A private garden in Staffordshire, photographed in early June. It has been created over a period of 40 years - and comprises two gardens which were unified when the owners bought an adjoining semi-detached property and incorporated it into their home. The garden is made up of rooms, connected by a number of meandering paths. It features a wide range of shrubs and herbaceous perennials, including Irises, ferns, clipped box domes, alpine plants, shrub and climbing roses lawns and the vivid magenta Gladiolus Byzantinus (Communis). There are also a kitchen garden areas and a greenhouse.
