Wells - Bishop's Palace Gardens and Well Pool 2.jpg

The Bishop’s Palace at Wells, Somerset has 14 acres of gardens - and it is thought there was a garden on the site even before the palace was built around 1206. Here a bench provides views over the Well Pools, the source of water from which the city takes its name. This photograph was taken in June.
