Private Garden near Denbigh - September-14.jpg

This is a private garden, near Denbigh, North Wales, photographed in September. Covering just over an acre, the garden has been created by owner Tony Burrows on a sloping site, overlooked by the Clwydian range and the iron age hillfort Moel Arthur. It comprises a number of island beds, combined with large trees - with the herbaceous planting providing abundant late summer/early autumn colour. Grasses are used throughout the garden, with a number of varieties providing form and movement - contrasting with the blocks of colourful perennials. Near the house is a kitchen garden together with plants such as Salvias, lavenders, Rudbeckias and Persicaria.
