In the Hydrangea Walk at Holehird Gardens, Cumbria, are some 150 cultivars of Hydrangea macrophylla in 'mophead' and 'lacecap' forms. The slightly acidic allows these to be seen in their full colour range of blue, mauve, pink, red and white. Species and cultivars of Hydrangea arborescens, aspera, heteromalla, paniculata, quercifolia, serrata and others can also be seen.
